Role & responsibilities 1. Electrical Operations & Monitoring Monitor and operate plant electrical systems (generators, transformers, HT/LT switchgear, MCC, PCC, motors, auxiliaries). Ensure smooth power evacuation and synchronization with the grid. Maintain operational parameters (voltage, frequency, power factor, load sharing, breaker status). 2. Switchyard Operation & Monitoring Operate and monitor switchyard equipment (breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, busbars, protection relays). Ensure safe and reliable power evacuation to the grid in compliance with SLDC/grid norms. Record and analyze tripping incidents, load flow, and relay operations. Maintain communication with SLDC/grid operator for load scheduling, outages, and emergencies. 3. Breakdown & Troubleshooting Attend and resolve electrical and switchyard faults promptly to minimize downtime. Support troubleshooting of motors, drives, breakers, and switchyard protection systems. Carry out fault analysis and initiate corrective actions. 4. Maintenance & Reliability Conduct preventive checks and routine inspections of plant electrical systems and switchyard equipment. Ensure availability of backup systems (DG sets, UPS, batteries, emergency lighting). Report abnormalities and support corrective maintenance activities. 5. Safety & Compliance Strictly follow Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations. Implement earthing, isolation, and safety checks in switchyard and electrical areas. 6. Coordination & Supervision Coordinate with Operations, Mechanical, and C&I teams to ensure uninterrupted generation. Supervise electricians/technicians during shift operations. Support in implementing SOPs and handling plant/grid emergencies. 7. Reporting & Documentation Maintain shift logbook of electrical & switchyard operations, breakdowns, and maintenance activities. Record daily parameters (power factor, auxiliary consumption, grid export/import, equipment status). Submit reports on tripping incidents, outages, and abnormalities to Electrical HOD. Preferred candidate profile Candidate with relevant Experience of 3+ years in handling the role of Electrical Operation & Maintenance of Power Plant.

Role & responsibilities 1. Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of Electrical Systems Ensure smooth operation of all electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, and auxiliaries. Implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical breakdowns swiftly to maintain plant availability. 2. Compliance, Safety & Standards Ensure compliance with statutory norms (CEA, IE Rules, Grid Code, Factory Act, etc.). Maintain safe work practices as per electrical safety standards (PTW, LOTO, PPE usage). Conduct regular safety audits and electrical system health checks. 3. Energy Management & Reliability Optimize electrical system efficiency to reduce auxiliary power consumption. Ensure reliable power evacuation, grid synchronization. Monitor system parameters to ensure uninterrupted 15 MW generation. 4. Manpower Management & Training Lead and supervise the electrical department team (engineers, technicians, shift staff). Provide technical training and skill development programs for the team. Ensure round-the-clock support through effective shift planning. 5. Project & Improvement Initiatives Lead electrical modification, upgradation, and automation projects. Ensure availability of critical spares and inventory management. Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and contractors for AMC/repairs. 6. Documentation & Reporting Maintain records of equipment history, breakdown analysis, and maintenance reports. Prepare MIS reports on power generation, auxiliary consumption, and equipment performance. Support management with data for audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions. 7. Budget & Cost Control Prepare and monitor annual O&M budget for the electrical department. Control maintenance costs through effective planning and vendor management. Ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising on quality and reliability. Preferred candidate profile : We are looking for Full Time-B.E/B.Tech - Electrical/E&E who has experience of independently handling the Electrical Department of Power Plant.
