Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Drawing Preparation & Review:

  • Study design inputs and clarify ambiguities with Design Head, Sales, and clients.
  • Guide and advise engineers on preparing drawings as per TEIL guidelines.
  • Verify design drawings prepared by engineers according to schedule and project requirements.

2. Drawing Approval & Coordination:

  • Submit verified drawings to consultants/clients for approval and follow up through meetings, calls, or emails.
  • Address consultant/client feedback, communicate necessary revisions to the team, and manage the resubmission process until final approval is obtained.

3. Release & Procurement:

  • Release planning drawings to manufacturing/fabrication teams after approval.
  • Release Bill of Materials (BOM) to PPC/Purchase post material clearance from clients.

4. Document Control & Revision Management:

  • Maintain and update master drawing folders, including all revisions and final approved versions (both hard and soft copies).
  • Manage Drawing Change Notices (DCN) for any changes after drawing release.
  • Maintain ERP item cards and ensure BOQ accuracy for manufacturing.

5. Verification & MIS:

  • Verify Addition/Deletion statements and coordinate commercial implications.
  • Verify scheme drawings and ensure correctness before release.
  • Update job status and all records in MIS monthly.

6. Process & Quality Management:

  • Maintain and update master design guidelines in coordination with Design Head.
  • Manage standardized design blocks/templates and update annually.
  • Support internal audits of IMS and maintain updated IMS records.

7. Coordination & Support:

  • Clarify drawing-related issues with production and quality control teams during manufacturing.
  • Support Design Head in guideline preparation and ensure feedback loops with Production, Customer Care, and Clients are active.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical/Relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in design engineering and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards, ERP systems, and design documentation.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficient in design software and MIS tools.
  • Familiarity with IMS/internal audit processes.
