Manager Civil - Project

Role & responsibilities

• Project Management:

  Drive all Civil project activities, including planning, scheduling, and executing new (greenfield) or expansion (brownfield) projects. This includes collaborating with OEMs and vendors for equipment selection, procurement (CAPEX planning), installation, commissioning, performance qualification, and process stabilization of extrusion presses and auxiliary equipment.

• Technical Oversight

Review and approve civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications

Ensure construction methods follow approved plans and standards

Resolve technical issues and design changes during construction

• Quality Control

Ensure work complies with quality standards, codes, and regulations

Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures

Conduct site inspections and audits

• Safety & Compliance:

  Ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental (EHS) standards, as well as statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, ISO certifications). Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training.

• Team Leadership & Management:

  Lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams (Civil, electrical, instrumentation, civil). Responsibilities include manpower planning, performance reviews, training, and fostering a culture of accountability and safety.

• Vendor & Inventory Management:

  Build strong relationships with vendors, negotiate annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), manage the inventory of spare parts, and oversee material receipt and storage.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education:

  Typically, a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience:

  Extensive experience (typically 8-15+ years, with several years in a leadership role) in the aluminium extrusion industry or related heavy manufacturing processes (rolling or casting). Proven experience in managing engineering projects is essential.

• Technical Knowledge:

  Strong understanding of extrusion press machinery, hydraulics, Civil systems, furnaces, and automation/PLC systems.

• Soft Skills:

  Excellent leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams is crucial
