Key Responsibilities

Server Administration

Install, configure, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux).

Manage server hardware, OS updates, patches, and security configurations.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.

Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and user access controls.

Manage and support Google Workspace (GWS) and Microsoft O365 environments.

Perform regular backups, recovery testing, and system restorations.

Datacentre Management

Oversee physical infrastructure, including server racks, cabling, cooling, and power.

Manage server provisioning, decommissioning, and hardware asset lifecycle.

Monitor environmental and operational status of the datacentre.

Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure SLA adherence.

Ensure compliance with physical security and cybersecurity standards.

Virtualization & Storage

Administer virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms).

Monitor and maintain SAN/NAS storage systems.

Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and storage provisioning.

Security & Compliance

Implement and enforce security policies across servers and datacentre.

Support audits and ensure compliance with industry standards (ISO, HIPAA, etc.).

Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations and operational procedures.

Perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA-CAPA) for incidents.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

10+ years of hands-on experience in server administration and datacentre operations.

Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux system administration.

Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, clusters).

Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).

Familiarity with enterprise backup and monitoring tools (e.g., Commvault, Veeam).

Ability to handle physical tasks like equipment racking and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

Industry certifications (e.g., MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Server+, VMware VCP, RHCSA).

Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructure (AWS, Azure).

Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (PowerShell, Bash).
