Job Summary:

Manager Business Development (Mining)

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the mining and MDO sector within the assigned region.
• Lead end-to-end

  tendering processes

  including tender identification, bid strategy, document preparation, and submission.
• Prepare detailed

  project costing models

  , including estimation of mining equipment, manpower, fuel, O&M costs, and overheads.
• Engage with clients (government and private), consultants, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and build strong relationships.
• Collaborate with internal teams (technical, planning, legal, finance) for tender document preparation and proposal finalization.
• Recommend the optimal fleet and equipment configuration for proposed mining projects.
• Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers for technical and commercial quotes for equipment and services.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of tenders, market intelligence, and competitor activities.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project discussions as needed.
• Support negotiations, MoUs, and finalization of agreements post tender award.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering. MBA is a plus.
• Minimum

  7+ years of experience

  in

  business development, tendering, or project estimation

  in the mining industry.
• Strong understanding of

  MDO contracts

  , project structuring, and financial modeling.
• Familiar with mining operations, production planning, and equipment deployment strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client-handling skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint; ERP or tender management tools is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel frequently across assigned regions.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience with government and private mining tenders (Coal India, NTPC, etc.).
• Strong industry network in mining states like Jharkhand, MP, and West Bengal.
• Exposure to coal mining, OB removal, or mineral handling projects.
• Ability to work independently and lead proposal teams under tight deadlines.
