Maintenance Officer

As a Maintenance Officer for Wooden Log Houses, your role involves overseeing and executing the upkeep, repair, and preservation of wooden log houses to ensure their longevity and safety. You will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, coordinating with external vendors for specialized repairs, maintaining accurate maintenance logs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct routine inspections and assessments of wooden log structures to identify wear, decay, pests, or moisture-related damage. - Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs when necessary. - Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports detailing inspection findings, repairs, and preventive actions. - Monitor and ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations related to wooden structures. Qualifications & Experience: - Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Wood Science, Wood Technology, Forestry, or a related discipline. - Experience: 1-4 years of practical experience in maintaining wooden structures, preferably log homes or timber-frame buildings. Skills & Competencies: - Strong knowledge of wood types, aging behavior, treatments, and preservation techniques. - Hands-on skills in carpentry, wood repair, and finishing. - Familiarity with wood-borne pest control and moisture management. - Basic understanding of structural integrity as it relates to timber. - Good organizational and record-keeping skills. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. - Physical stamina and ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
