Maintenance - Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

• Carry out routine inspections on machinery, including cleaners, graders, dryers, conveyors, treaters, packaging lines, and seed storage equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment lifespan.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues and perform repairs promptly.
• Maintain and update maintenance logs and service records.

• Equipment Operation Support

• Support production teams in setting up equipment for seed cleaning, grading, treatment, and packaging.
• Ensure machinery is calibrated correctly to meet product quality requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.

• Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and plant SOPs.
• Conduct safety checks on equipment such as motors, belts, bearings, and electrical panels.
• Identify and mitigate potential hazards in the plant.

• Inventory & Resource Management

• Manage maintenance supplies including spare parts, tools, lubricants, and consumables.
• Work with procurement to ensure timely availability of critical spares.
• Maintain proper documentation of materials used and costs incurred.

• Facility Maintenance

• Oversee maintenance of buildings, utilities, and infrastructure (HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire safety systems, etc).
• Ensure proper functioning of seed storage facilities (ventilation, temperature monitoring, fumigation schedules).

• Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to process optimization and equipment modification initiatives.
• Recommend upgrades to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and performance.
• Participate in training of plant staff on safe and proper equipment use.
  

Education, Skills, and Work Experience Requirements:

• Educational Qualification:

  Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical in Engineering / Any Graduation

• Relevant Work Experience:

  35 years in any process industry such as seed, food product, chemical or heavy engineering.

• Skills:

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical diagrams, wiring layouts, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment (preferred).

Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems (CMMS).
