Mainframe - Lead

Role Summary:

• The Mainframe Senior Lead is responsible for leading technical teams in the design, development, and support of mainframe applications.
• This role involves hands-on development, performance tuning, and strategic planning to ensure scalable and efficient solutions.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of mainframe developers.
• Define and implement scalable application solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose technical solutions.
• Perform code reviews and enforce coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ensure seamless integration of mainframe applications with other systems.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  

Technical Skills Required:

• Languages & Tools: COBOL, PL/I, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, MQ-Series, SQL.
• Development Lifecycle: Strong understanding of end-to-end mainframe development.
• Automation & Support: Experience in automating mainframe processes and providing production support.
  

Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe technologies.
• Certifications in mainframe or leadership domains.
• Experience in capacity planning and reducing resource usage (I/Os, CPU time, MSUs, MIPs).
