Machine Operator

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining advanced printing machines, including UV printing systems and 1 over 1 perfecting presses. This role ensures optimal machine performance, consistent print quality, and adherence to production schedules and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Machine Setup & Operation Set up and operate printing presses with UV or 1 over 1 perfecting technology according to job specifications. Calibrate machine settings to ensure high-quality and efficient output. Load and align printing materials accurately for smooth operation. 2. Quality Control Monitor production for consistent print quality, including color accuracy, alignment, and UV curing. Inspect printed output for defects such as misprints, color inconsistencies, or registration issues. Make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards throughout production. 3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operation. Identify and resolve minor mechanical or printing issues independently. Report significant malfunctions or technical problems to the supervisor or maintenance team. 4. Production Efficiency Operate machines efficiently to meet daily and weekly production targets. Minimize material waste and machine downtime. Maintain detailed records of production output, machine performance, and any issues encountered. 5. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Handle UV inks and related materials in accordance with safety guidelines. Keep workstations clean and organized in line with health and safety regulations. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in printing operations or UV printing technology is an asset. Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience operating printing machines in a production environment. Hands-on experience with UV printing and 1 over 1 perfecting systems highly preferred. Skills & Competencies: Technical Skills: Proficient in machine operation, quality control, and basic troubleshooting. Solid understanding of UV ink systems and perfecting press technology. Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical instructions. Effective team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
