Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Role Purpose The Logistics Lead will drive end-to-end vendor logistics operations, vehicle management, returns and rejection handling, inventory mapping integrity, cost reduction initiatives, and complete bills reconciliation. The position requires strong operational discipline, analytical capability, and cross-functional stakeholder management. Key Responsibilities 1. Vendor & Vehicle Management Manage daily coordination with vendors and transport vehicles for inbound and outbound material movement. Ensure proper allocation, scheduling, and tracking of vehicles to maintain OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance. Monitor vendor compliance with logistics SLAs and drive continuous improvement across service quality and timelines. 2. Returns Management Own end-to-end returns management including defective returns, excess returns, and vendor return authorisations (RMA/RTV). Ensure correct documentation, segregation, routing, and closure of all return cases. Track closure timelines and enforce accountability with vendors. 3. Logistical Cost Reduction Identify and execute logistics cost-reduction initiatives across freight, routing efficiency, packaging optimisation, and vendor freight terms. Review transporter and vendor performance to eliminate avoidable logistics cost leakage. Maintain monthly cost dashboards and provide variance analysis. 4. Bill Reconciliation Oversee bill reconciliation for logistics partners, transporters, and vendors. Validate freight bills, GRNs, debit/credit notes, and discrepancies prior to finance processing. Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure process accuracy. 5. Inventory Mapping Drive inventory mapping between ERP, physical stock, and vendor dispatch data to ensure 100 percent alignment. Coordinate cycle counts, root-cause analysis of mismatches, and correction actions with warehouse teams. Maintain strict data integrity and zero-deviation reporting. 6. Rejected Material Mapping Own the process for rejected material mapping, classification, documentation, and vendor follow-through. Ensure rejected materials are systematically recorded, tagged, and moved to appropriate holding areas. Track vendor recovery, debit notes, and closure status for each rejection case.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Skills & Competencies Advanced Excel proficiency (Pivots, Lookups, MIS reporting). Strong stakeholder management across vendors, transporters, procurement, finance, and warehouse teams. Negotiation skills for vendor terms, freight rates, and operational conflict resolution. Process discipline, analytical problem-solving, and operational ownership. Experience & Qualifications 1+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, vendor management, or inventory control (depending on level). Experience in manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, or e-commerce supply chains preferred. Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems (SAP/Oracle/Zoho/Others) is an advantage. KPIs Cost reduction achieved in logistics operations. Vendor OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance. Inventory mapping accuracy (% mismatch reduction). Rejection/return closure time. Reconciliation accuracy and finance audit compliance
