We are looking for Logistics Coordinator to be based in Pune, India. This position reports to Manager, Logistics, Asia Pacific . In this position you will have an opportunity to network and collaborate with our Partners, Suppliers, Service providers, Internal Stakeholders and External stakeholders.
What you will do at Valmet:
Support supply planning process with input on transportation costs, lead times, delivery terms and limitations to enable the development of a total cost-efficient supply plan
Create a total cost-efficient shipping plan based on established supply plan, according to guidelines established by the transportation category management team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare, develop, and send out RFQ Packages /inquires for Project Logistics.
- Receive offers and make quotation comparison.
- Prepare, organize, and conduct supplier negotiations.
- Preparing releasing purchase order in ERP as per Purchase Policyand create supplier/s project contract.
- Create and provide logistics input(cost/ lead time/ mode of transport) for defined supply plan scenarios, during both Sales phase and Project execution Phase.
- Estimate logistics man-hours and update Cost estimation.
- Identify currency, legal and tax requirements impacting logistics during sales/ execution phase.
- Utilize supply plan to divide project into shipping packages/ prepare solid shipping plan based on shipping route, mode of Transportation as per incoterms and in line with Category strategies.
- To give comments on sale contract terms and conditions, limitations regarding transportation and payment terms in contracts and L/C to sales.
- To define terms of letter of credit independently.
- Co-operation and communication with customer, suppliers, and Valmet organization globally.
Logistics execution tasks:
- Execute shipments according to established shipping plan.
- Monitor PO delivery status and update shipping plan.
- Check and approve cargo data.
- Prepare shipment specifications and special dispatch instructions.
- Prepare logistics related instructions for Supply Category Management and other functions.
- Plan and coordinate loading and discharging supervision.
- Coordinate cargo details and arrange suitable transportation equipment.
- Book transportation according to shipping plan
- Manage transport time schedules and transportation costs.
- Prepare shipping and customs documentation and send to receiver.
- Track transports and inform receiver.
- Monitor receiving and report status according to established process.
- If needed, prepare and manage claims to carriers.
- Visit if needed to supplier location/ mill sites (domestic shipment) and destination/ discharging ports / CFS / warehouse (If any) for expediting of Import / Export shipment.
- Execute Local special tasks according to instructions and established processes
- Support supplier invoice payment process coordination with finance team for submission of all supplier shipment related documents.
Invoicing tasks
- To handle customer invoicing according to terms of payment defined in contract.
- Manage supplier invoicing and payments according to established contracts
- Manage Letters of Credit and present required documentation.
- Prepare statistics for the customs regarding imports and export to/from the Authorities
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Any bachelor s degree, preferably with Engineering or MBA specialization in Logistics. Minimum relevant Logistics experience required for this job is 12-15 years Overall 18 Years Commercial understanding of financial terms including Incoterms Currency variations. Planning organizing, passion for serving customers and collaborating with colleagues stakeholders. Transportation market Knowledge freight Modes Good working Knowledge in MS Office Willing to travel (10% - 30% travelling would be required). Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
