Linux & Automation Engineer | 5+ years

We are seeking a Linux Systems & Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Linux administration, automation, and hybrid infrastructure management. The role involves building, automating, and operating IT infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, with a focus on Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE), automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC). The engineer will be responsible for designing reliable systems, enabling automation at scale, and supporting enterprise workloads with high availability and security.

Education

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Linux OS engineering and automation
• Hands-on experience with at least two mainstream Linux distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE)
• Proven background in automation, scripting, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code

Key Responsibilities

• Linux Administration: Configure, secure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE) across on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Automation & IaC: Automate system deployments, upgrades, and configurations using Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Bourne Shell, and Python.
• CI/CD Enablement: Design and maintain pipelines using Jenkins, Tekton, and GitHub/GitOps for infrastructure and application deployments.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy and manage workloads with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker.
• Infrastructure Operations: Implement monitoring, observability, and performance tuning for Linux systems and hybrid infrastructure.
• Security & Compliance: Apply patches, manage security policies, and ensure compliance across infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Provide L3 engineering support to operations teams for Linux and automation-related issues.
• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (applications, hardware, and cloud) to deploy infrastructure in multiple environments (on-prem, plant, cloud).
