About the Role

Linux & Application Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Provide
L1/L2 support
for Linux servers and hosted applications.
Perform daily
system monitoring
, health checks, and log analysis.
Troubleshoot issues related to
Linux OS, services, application failures, and performance
.
Deploy and update application components as per Release/Change Management processes.
Manage
user access, permissions, file systems, cron jobs, and shell scripts
.
Work closely with development, DevOps, and infra teams for issue resolution.
Support
incident management
, root-cause analysis, and documentation of solutions.
Maintain application configs, monitor alerts, and ensure SLA compliance.
Handle
basic networking troubleshooting
(DNS, firewall, ports, connectivity, etc.).
Prepare daily/weekly operational reports and maintain support documents.

Required Skills

Strong working knowledge of
Linux (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu)
.
Experience with
application support
in a production environment.
Hands-on with
shell scripting (Bash)
and automation of routine tasks.
Knowledge of
Apache / Nginx / Tomcat
or similar web/application servers.
Familiarity with databases:
MySQL / PostgreSQL / Oracle (basic queries)
.
Understanding of
logs (Syslog), monitoring tools
, and service management.
Basic understanding of
cloud environments
(AWS/Azure) is a plus.
Good communication, analytical skills, and ability to work in a 247 support environment (if required).

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering / Computer Science / IT
or equivalent.
