Job Description

As a Consultant - Senior Linux Administrator with 6 to 9 years of experience, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Linux-based systems and infrastructure. Your expertise in troubleshooting, virtualization, and automation will be crucial in optimizing system performance. This role is based in Chennai and requires a notice period of immediate to 30 days. Your key responsibilities will include administering and maintaining Linux servers and workstations across different environments, efficiently troubleshooting complex system and network issues, managing virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V, and automating processes using advanced scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl. Additionally, you will be expected to monitor system performance using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana, implement security measures, conduct regular audits, perform system backups, recovery, and migrations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations. Documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps will also be a part of your role. Minimum qualifications and skills for this position include a Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) or equivalent, expertise in Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, proficiency in network protocols, and firewall configurations, as well as familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet. Preferred qualifications and skills include proven experience working in a role involving RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or LFCE (Linux Foundation Certified Engineer), and experience in DevOps tools like Jenkins, Kubernetes, and VMWare would be considered an added advantage.
