Role:

To manage the tradesmen and labour in their day-to-day activities ensuring the work is completed on time and to the highest standards.


Responsibilities:

The individual will be responsible for (but not limited to):


  1. To ensure that the correct tools (hand and power) are used on site at all times
  2. To ensure that the correct personal protective equipment is used on site at all times
  3. To explain and interpret technical drawings to the Junior Foreman and Chargehand, ensuring that they are supported and understand what is required
  4. To ensure the most suitable materials are used for each construction activity
  5. To calculate the quantities of materials required, by acurately measuring the activity, and ensuring the materials required are ordered timeously
  6. To ensure that all members of the team are working safely in line with the ALEC company policy and procedures, making certain that signs and regulations on site are adhered to
  7. Understand how the contract impacts on the environment and ensure action is taken place to minimise impact
  8. To ensure all hazardous materials on site are labeled, stored, managed and used appropriately
  9. Record activty on site and optimise productivity through implementing produtivity improvement initiatives
  10. To ensure each task is planned and that the correct materials and resources are available
  11. Prepare for and conduct quality checks on fixed reinforcement cages and hardened concrete, ensuring corrective actions are completed
  12. Ensure any works completed in a confined space are completed safely by competent persons with the correct equipment and emergency procedures in place
  13. To manage the tradesmen and labour resources through issuing instructions and supporting their development
  14. To motivate the team and encourage team work at all levels


Requirements/Qualifications

  1. Experience in Logistics
  2. First aider
  3. Must hold a valid Driving License
