Job Summary:

Pallavi International School, Sagar Road, invites applications from qualified and dynamic professionals for the post of Librarian. The ideal candidate should be passionate about fostering a culture of reading and research, maintaining a well-organized library, and supporting students and teachers in accessing quality learning resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the school library efficiently, ensuring systematic cataloguing, classification, and maintenance of all books and resources.
• Assist students and teachers in locating, selecting, and utilizing library materials effectively.
• Develop and implement library policies, procedures, and programs that encourage regular usage and promote reading habits among students.
• Maintain updated records of book issues, returns, and inventory through digital or manual systems.
• Curate and acquire new books, journals, and digital resources in alignment with the school’s curriculum and reading goals.
• Organize reading challenges, book fairs, author visits, and literary activities to promote literacy and love for books.
• Ensure a quiet, orderly, and conducive atmosphere for reading and research.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom learning.
• Maintain the library budget, prepare annual reports, and ensure timely stock verification.
• Uphold CBSE guidelines and ensure compliance with school library standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc / M.Lib.Sc) from a recognized university.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a school librarian (preferably in a CBSE/International school).
• Proficiency in library management software and digital cataloguing.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for books, literature, and promoting reading among children.

Salary:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
