Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Formulate and implement policies for library management and services.
  
• Develop strategic plans to enhance library infrastructure, digital resources, and access systems.
  
• Supervise the procurement, cataloguing, classification, and maintenance of library materials (both physical and digital).
  

Digital & Technological Services

• Manage library automation systems (e.g., Koha, SOUL, RFID-based systems).
  
• Oversee the integration of e-resources, databases, institutional repositories, and remote access tools.
  
• Promote digital literacy and facilitate access to e-journals, e-books, and academic databases (e.g., JSTOR, Scopus, IEEE).
  

Academic & Research Support

• Support faculty and researchers in information sourcing, citation tools, and resource sharing.
  
• Conduct orientation programs and information literacy sessions for students and scholars.
  
• Coordinate with academic departments to ensure relevant and updated collections.
  

Library Administration

• Lead a team of library professionals and support staff.
  
• Prepare and manage library budgets, annual reports, and audit records.
  
• Ensure compliance with UGC norms, NAAC/NBA requirements, and other regulatory bodies.
  

Collaboration & Development

• Liaise with other university libraries, consortia (e.g., INFLIBNET, DELNET), and knowledge networks.
  
• Organize seminars, workshops, and exhibitions on library science and academic publishing.
  
• Maintain effective communication with faculty, students, and university leadership.

  Role & responsibilities

Qualification and Experience

• Masters Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least

  55% marks

  (or equivalent grade).
• At least

  10 years of experience

  as a Librarian in a reputed academic/research institution, including

  administrative experience

  .
• A

  Ph.D. in Library Science or related field

  is desirable.
• Evidence of innovative library services, published work, and knowledge of emerging library technologies.
