Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Librarian to manage our school library, promote a culture of reading, and support the academic growth of students and teachers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining library resources, organizing materials, and assisting students in developing research and information literacy skills as per CBSE curriculum standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize, catalog, and maintain all library resources including books, periodicals, and digital materials.
• Assist students and teachers in locating and selecting appropriate reading and reference materials.
• Implement library programs that encourage reading habits and lifelong learning.
• Manage library databases and ensure timely circulation (issue/return) of books.
• Maintain discipline and ensure a conducive learning environment in the library.
• Coordinate with teachers to support classroom activities and curriculum needs.
• Regularly update the library collection by recommending new titles and removing outdated materials.
• Conduct book fairs, reading weeks, and other literary activities.
• Ensure adherence to CBSE and school library policies.
• Maintain accurate records of library inventory and prepare periodic reports.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc / M.Lib.Sc) or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Librarian in a CBSE/recognized school preferred.
• Good knowledge of library management systems and digital resources.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Passion for books and promoting reading culture among students.
• Proficiency in MS Office and library software.

Work Schedule:

• As per school timings
• Additional hours during events such as book fairs, annual functions, etc.

Compensation:

• Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month

• Kolkata, West Bengal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
