Job Description

Job Title: Government Liaison Officer

Job Summary:

The Government Liaison Officer is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships between the organization and various government entities. The role ensures compliance with government regulations, facilitates the timely exchange of information, and supports the organizations strategic goals by representing its interests to local, regional, and national authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary point of contact between the organization and government departments, regulatory bodies, and public officials.

Monitor, interpret, and communicate relevant government policies, regulations, and legislation that impact the organization’s operations.

Facilitate the submission and processing of permits, licenses, and other regulatory documentation.

Coordinate meetings, visits, and communications between the organization and government representatives.

Represent the organization at official functions, public hearings, and regulatory meetings.

Prepare and submit required reports, compliance documents, and position papers to government agencies.

Advise senior management on political or legislative developments that may affect the organization.

Maintain records of interactions, submissions, and approvals from government entities.

Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.

Proactively build networks within government sectors to foster goodwill and support the organization’s objectives.

NOTE: This job involves travel all over India.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: Any Bachelor's degree

Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory compliance, or a similar li aisn role.

Experience working within or closely with government agencies is highly desirable.

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of government structures, legislative processes, and regulatory frameworks.

Strong communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.

High level of discretion and political acumen.

Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive information.
