Job Description

Role Overview: As a Legal Officer at Khushbh Auto Finance Ltd., you will play a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance and risk management for our operations in Bihar. Your responsibilities will include providing legal advisory, managing compliance and risk, overseeing litigation matters, contract management, legal research updates, and conducting training sessions for employees. You will need to have a deep understanding of financial regulations, particularly those relevant to NBFCs, and possess excellent communication and analytical skills to succeed in this role. Key Responsibilities: - Provide timely and accurate legal advice on various legal matters such as loan agreements, recovery procedures, property laws, and corporate affairs. - Interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to NBFCs, auto finance, and consumer protection. - Ensure compliance with central, state, and local laws, RBI guidelines, consumer finance laws, and other statutory requirements in Bihar. - Identify potential legal risks, develop strategies to mitigate them, and update internal policies and procedures accordingly. - Manage litigation matters including recovery suits, consumer complaints, and legal disputes, liaising with external legal counsel when necessary. - Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, agreements, and contracts such as loan agreements and vendor contracts. - Stay updated on changes in legislation, legal precedents, and regulatory developments affecting the NBFC and auto finance sector in India and Bihar. - Provide legal training and guidance to employees on compliance matters and best practices. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university in India; LLM or equivalent qualification is a plus. - 3-5 years of post-qualification experience as a Legal Officer or similar role in an NBFC, banking, or financial services industry. - In-depth knowledge of Indian legal frameworks related to banking, finance, contracts, property, and recovery laws. - Strong understanding of legal and regulatory compliance requirements for NBFCs. - Proven experience in managing litigation and working with external legal counsel. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, written, and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
