Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Lead and handle end-to-end litigation matters before civil, criminal, consumer, labour courts, tribunals, and quasi-judicial forums, including recovery suits, commercial disputes, and theft/fraud cases common in logistics operations.
• Regularly appear before courts and tribunals, argue matters independently or assist senior counsel, draft oral arguments, and respond effectively to judicial queries and orders.
• Liaise proactively with police authorities, station house officers, and cyber cells for FIR registrations, investigation follow-ups, evidence collection, and closure of criminal complaints related to cargo theft, employee fraud, or route disruptions.
• Draft police complaints, FIR applications, closure reports, and protest petitions under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), ensuring procedural compliance and evidentiary support.
• Conduct in-depth legal research on statutes (e.g., Commercial Courts Act, SARFAESI, IBC), case laws, and precedents specific to logistics disputes, transport contracts, and employment litigations.
• Draft and file pleadings, plaints, written statements, interlocutory applications, execution petitions, review applications, appeals, affidavits, and legal notices with precision and adherence to court formats.
• Manage comprehensive case portfolios: track filings, limitations, hearing schedules, evidence collation, witness coordination, and trial preparation in collaboration with external advocates.
• Monitor and ensure strict compliance with court timelines, interim orders, and decrees, including execution of judgments and recovery of dues.
• Provide detailed litigation MIS reports, risk assessments, and strategic advice to business heads on ongoing suits, potential exposures, and settlement viability.
• Support pre-litigation dispute prevention through swift legal notices, negotiation briefs, and contract vetting to minimize escalations to courts.
• Draft/review ancillary documents like Leave & License agreements for warehouses and operational contracts (vendor, transporter MSMEs) only as they relate to ongoing litigations or recovery matters.

  Key skills and competencies

• Expert knowledge of litigation procedures across civil/criminal courts, tribunals (e.g., DRT, NCLT), high court practices, BNS/BNSS protocols, and commercial dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Superior drafting proficiency for court pleadings, applications, police documents, execution proceedings, and appeals, backed by strong research using Manupatra/Lexis tools.
• Exceptional advocacy skills for court appearances, judicial interactions, police negotiations, and stakeholder reporting under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to juggle 50+ active cases, meet razor-sharp deadlines, and deliver wins in recovery/commercial litigations.
• Meticulous attention to procedural details, ethical professionalism, and confidentiality in high-stakes logistics disputes.
• Proficiency in MS Office

Preferred candidate profile

• 2–6 years hands-on litigation experience in corporate setups, law firms, or recovery agencies, with proven track record in arguing matters and securing favorable outcomes.
• Strong exposure to logistics/e-commerce
• litigations: cargo claims, transporter disputes, employee termination
  suits, consumer complaints, cheating/fraud FIRs, and debt recovery.
• Prior role handling police liaisons, FIR drafting, and court executions in high-volume environments will be highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Karnataka High Court practices, regional laws, and logistics sector risks is advantageous for Xpressbees’ operations.
• Fluency in English and Kannada essential; Hindi/Tamil a plus for multi-state matters.
