Legal Associate

Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive Legal Associate with 3-4 years of post-qualification experience to join our in-house legal team. The role will primarily focus on drafting, reviewing, and managing SaaS and commercial contracts while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards. The ideal candidate should have exposure to contract management tools and be eager to collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, finance, procurement, and product) to support smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS and commercial contracts, including MSAs, NDAs, subscription agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements.
• Manage the contract lifecycle (intake, review, execution, renewals, and amendments).
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Finance, Procurement, HR, Product) to address contract requirements.
• Maintain and organize the contract repository, ensuring documentation and version control.
• Assist in updating and maintaining contract templates, playbooks, and standard documentation.
• Identify and escalate legal and commercial risks, suggesting practical solutions.
• Support compliance with data protection, intellectual property, SaaS regulations, and emerging AI/ML governance frameworks.
• Use CLM/CRM/ERP tools to assist in contract workflows.
• Coordinate with external counsel for specific matters, as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in law (LL.B. or equivalent) from a reputed institution; enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
• 3-4 years of PQE in corporate/commercial law (preferably SaaS/technology sector).
• Experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
• Familiarity with contract management or CLM tools (hands-on exposure is a plus).
• Exposure to CRM/ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP) is an advantage.
• Good understanding of contract law, commercial agreements, and compliance basics.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
