About the Role:

As the SEO Lead at Swiggy, you will drive organic growth initiatives for Food vertical in Swiggy. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise and execute data-driven SEO strategies that deliver measurable improvements in organic traffic, revenue, and visibility. This is an ideal opportunity for a driven SEO expert eager to impact the business at scale.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in SEO, preferably in a B2C ecommerce domain.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and execute end-to-end SEO strategies for Swiggy to drive organic growth and achieve business objectives.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Content teams to ensure technical and content optimizations are prioritized and executed.
  • Responsible for on-site and on-app SEO, including content enhancement, authority building, and conversion optimization.
  • Perform in-depth keyword research, competitive analysis, and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Oversee external SEO agencies, setting KPIs and driving accountability for results.
  • Stay abreast of latest industry trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging SEO technologies.
  • Analyze organic performance data to develop actionable insights and iterative improvements.
  • Ensure all practices comply with search engine guidelines and embrace only ethical SEO tactics.


Required Skillset

  • Strong track record in delivering SEO growth for B2C, marketplace, or ecommerce websites.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of technical SEO (site architecture, schema markup, page speed, sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicalization, etc.).
  • Expertise in keyword research, opportunity sizing, and ranking competitive terms.
  • Ability to provide detailed SEO analysis and actionable recommendations for site content, structure, and authority improvements.
  • Experience developing and executing link-building and authority-building strategies.
  • Familiarity with implementing and managing search engine programs (XML sitemaps, shopping feeds, webmaster tools).
  • Understanding of both white hat and black hat tactics and comprehensive knowledge of Google’s Webmaster Guidelines.


Good to Have (AEO/GEO Work)

  • Experience with Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), including optimizing content for featured snippets, FAQ schema, and voice search queries.
  • Familiarity with Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), particularly strategies to surface answers in AI-powered search engines (Google SGE, Bing Copilot, etc.).
  • Knowledge of schema markup for enhanced visibility (FAQ, How-to, Review, etc.).
  • Prior work with conversational and zero-click search optimization.
  • Experience with emerging SERP formats triggered by AI-generated answers.
