Job Description

Division: Hydrogen Business Department: Engineering Qualification: B.E/ B. Tech Chemical Experience: 8 to 12 yrs Location: Energy House, Pune Reporting To: Head Engineering Accountability & Responsibilities: Process Design & Project Execution: Lead process design and detail engineering for pre-bid and awarded projects, including: Process simulations, optimization, and calculations Equipment sizing and internals selection Verification of FEED designs and RFQ specifications Prepare and deliver key engineering documents: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs Process and equipment datasheets Control and shutdown philosophies Cause & Effect diagrams, HAZOP reports Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals Technical & Vendor Interface: Prepare and issue RFQs/material requisitions Conduct technical bid evaluations and support vendor clarifications Review and approve vendor drawings, datasheets, and calculations Ensure timely engineering deliverables in alignment with project schedules Continuous Improvement: Participate in and drive lessons learned initiatives Contribute to design standardization, guideline development, and knowledge management Provide mentoring and support to junior engineers Key Tasks: Engineering & Design: Ensure final deliverables align with internal and client technical specifications and standards Maintain and update internal design tools, templates, and guidelines Provide process support to project teams and commissioning staff Collaborate across disciplines (Mechanical, E&I, Layout, Automation) Departmental Involvement: Actively participate in departmental meetings and planning Support achievement of department and personal objectives Project Delivery: Ensure timely and complete delivery of scope as defined in work orders Manage scope alignment and closure with the client Qualifications & Experience: Education: B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Chemical Engineering Specialization in Petroleum / Petrochemical Engineering/ Hydrogen preferred Mandatory Experience: 812 years of experience in Oil & Gas / Chemical Process Engineering At least 5+ years specifically in hydrogen electrolysis or upstream gas processing systems Prior experience with gas purification, or hydrogen generation plants is essential Experience in OEM, EPC or engineering consultancy roles preferred Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with: Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, Sulcol, etc. Knowledge of standards: API, ASME, NFPA, EN, PED Core Competencies: Teamwork & Cooperation Result Orientation Learning Ability & Cognitive Agility Job-Specific Competencies: Flexibility and Adaptability Engineering Judgment Planning & Organizing Presentation and Communication Skills
