Job Summary:

Automobile Process Drawing Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain

  process drawings, operation sheets, and work instructions

  for automotive components and assemblies.
• Create detailed

  manufacturing process layouts, machining sequences, and assembly procedures.

• Collaborate with

  Design and R&D teams

  to translate CAD models and drawings into manufacturable process plans.
• Design and specify

  fixtures, jigs, gauges, and tooling

  required for production and testing.
• Review and optimize existing manufacturing processes to

  reduce cycle time, improve quality, and minimize cost.

• Ensure

  process drawings comply with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

  and industry standards.
• Coordinate with

  production and quality departments

  to validate new processes and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain

  BOMs (Bill of Materials)

  , revision control, and document management for all process drawings.
• Support

  new product development (NPD)

  activities by preparing prototype and pilot run process documentation.
• Implement

  continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S)

  in process documentation and workflow.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in

  CAD software

  such as

  Creo, NX, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks.

• Strong understanding of

  automotive manufacturing processes

  machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly.
• Good knowledge of

  GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and process capability.

• Experience in

  fixture/tool design

  and process validation.
• Familiarity with

  PPAP, APQP, and FMEA documentation

  .
• Analytical mindset with strong

  attention to detail

  and documentation accuracy.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills to work across departments.
  
• Exposure to

  Lean manufacturing and process optimization techniques

  is an added advantage.

Educational Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Accuracy and completeness of process drawings and documentation.
  
• Process improvement outcomes (cycle time reduction, cost savings, quality improvement).
  
• Timely release of process documents for new and existing parts.
  
• Compliance with standards and audit requirements.
  
• Effective cross-functional collaboration and support to production teams.
