Job Description

In this role of Lead People Solutions and Advice Infrastructure India, Sri Lanka (Employee Relations) at HSBC, you will be responsible for various key tasks including but not limited to: - Designing, implementing, and streamlining policies and procedures in alignment with local employment legislative provisions and HSBC Group framework. - Providing strategic advice on People Solutions and Advice (PS&A) aspects to HR team(s) and Business on a wide range of employment matters, identifying associated risks and decisions. - Applying in-depth knowledge of labor laws and Group Policies to provide strategic inputs and resolutions for complex Employee Relations (ER) issues, ensuring compliance with regulations and Group standards. - Providing strategic guidance for the development and implementation of Business Change or Transformation programs, offering innovative solutions for effective resolution of challenges. - Overseeing, tracking, and monitoring PS&A service delivery metrics, providing trends and insights to various Entity, Regional, and Global Governance Forums. - Engaging and managing relationships with legal counsels, working on litigation strategy for employment disputes, and ensuring accountability for outcomes. - Providing mentorship and professional development to team members, ensuring skill development and workload balance. - Staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and changes in employment laws to maintain compliance and competitive employee relations strategy. - Acting as a point of escalation and providing guidance for complex concerns and whistleblowing investigations. - Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders for seamless delivery of PS&A objectives. - Ensuring compliance with legal entity and country regulatory requirements while operating within defined Global Standards. - Partnering with Risk Team for periodic risk assessment of Employment Practices and Relations Risk and developing remediation action plans. Qualifications required for this role include: - Post Graduation in Human Resources or equivalent with 15+ years of experience in Human Resource function and at least 10 years of experience in Employee Relations. - Demonstrated experience in developing strategy, managing ER policies, processes, and practices in a global and matrixed environment. - Strong knowledge and application of employment laws applicable to India and Sri Lanka. - High business acumen, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to consult and influence people at all levels. - Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills, ability to make rational decisions and navigate through complex scenarios with minimal guidance.
