Lead: Modern Trade & Offline Expansion

Location: Gurugram, Haryana

We are looking for a senior sales professional with deep experience across offline retail, who can lead and scale Somersaults presence across SIS and modern trade formats. This role requires someone who understands the full spectrum, from shop floor operations and store onboarding to backend negotiations and distributor management.

You will be instrumental in unlocking high-potential modern trade accounts, managing existing partners and identifying new distribution partners for regional expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a retail expansion strategy focused on modern trade, SIS formats, kidswear boutiques, and department stores.
  • Own and nurture relationships with existing distributors and onboard new regional distributors across India.
  • Identify and pitch to high-potential retail accounts, negotiating commercial terms and driving brand visibility in-store.
  • Oversee SIS rollouts in coordination with visual merchandisers, retail ops, and internal design/marketing teams.
  • Guide store staff, promoters, and retail partners on product knowledge, VM guidelines, and sales SOPs.
  • Analyse sales data by location/store type and recommend strategies to improve sell-through, footfall conversions, and regional assortment mix.
  • Liaise closely with back-office teams to ensure stock availability, pricing alignment, discounting protocols, and fulfilment.
  • Report monthly sales performance, retailer feedback, and operational insights to senior management with corrective action plans.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in offline retail sales, from store management to brand-side planning & expansion.
  • Exposure to kids wear, fashion, lifestyle, or related consumer categories preferred.
  • Deep network of modern trade partners, department stores, and regional distributors.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SIS rollouts, VM coordination, and store operations.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable with regional travel.
