Job Description:

  • Provide implementable solutions from proven concepts and analytical models within the boundaries of product development on source and transmission control for target acoustic design requirements of compressors.
  • Develop design tools & methodology using principles of acoustics and fluid dynamics through mathematical formulations and modelling of subsystems and solutioning in MATLAB towards the prediction of acoustic behavior of systems.
  • Responsible for development and validation of design proposals and solutions influencing acoustic targets by working together with CFT team.
  • Support & provide design solutions for product development across proto refinement stages & design problem solving for issues concerning the perceived sound quality of compressors in the product life cycle.
  • Execution of state of the art technology projects in acoustics from adjacencies through development and implementation of new concept / process as per business & roadmap requirements

Desired Profile:

Mechanical Engineering - M.E/M.Tech in Design (Applied mechanics / Acoustics/ Noise & Vibration) domain with 3-5 years of relevant experience as below

Core Experience:

  • Should have the design experience to analyse and provide optimized and validated designs through acoustic analysis of ducted systems and structural acoustics with relevant excitations to ensure functional and reliability requirements of rotating and reciprocating machineries.
  • Should be well versant with design, optimization and verification of acoustic properties for absorption, transmission loss, insertion loss and source characteristics through analytical formulations in MATLAB for modelling of ducted systems towards developing indigenous designs towards the prediction of acoustic behaviour of systems.
  • Predictive vibroacoustics for critical sources & transmission path control design of noise by design and selection of acoustic absorption materials and attenuators and validation through Analytical, Finite/Boundary element and & Statistical Energy based analysis of subsystems and coupled systems for overall acoustic system design.
  • Vibroacoustic analysis and optimization of structure borne sources incorporating mechanical and fluid dynamic excitations for prediction of vibroacoustic radiation and subsequent validation Vibroacoustic source characterisation and acoustic transfer path analysis through experimental approaches and postprocessing for feature extractions with multichannel systems (LMS TestLab or similar).

Preferable Knowledge/Experience:

  • Exposure to experimental NVH for feature extractions through applied signal processing is an added advantage.
  • Experience Exposure to commercial numerical acoustic tools like Actran, Vitual Lab Acoustics is preferred.
