Lead - Customs & Logistics

Role & responsibilities

- Lead and manage all customs clearance activities including documentation, classification, valuation, and compliance with statutory regulations to ensure smooth import/export processes.

- Develop and implement customs strategies that minimize delays and optimize cost efficiencies while maintaining adherence to international and Indian customs laws and regulations.

- Coordinate with government agencies, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve issues related to customs clearance, tariffs, and duties.

- Oversee end-to-end logistics management encompassing inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution for power and energy projects.

- Collaborate closely with procurement, project management, and supply chain teams to synchronize logistics and customs functions supporting critical power infrastructure timelines.

- Monitor and track shipments and inventory status to proactively address potential delays or disruptions, ensuring on-time delivery in line with project schedules.

- Conduct risk assessments and audits of customs and logistics processes to mitigate compliance risks and recommend continuous improvements.

- Lead negotiations with logistics service providers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to secure competitive rates and optimize service levels.

- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for customs and logistics operations, regularly reporting performance metrics to senior management.

- Drive implementation of technology-driven solutions such as customs clearance software, supply chain management systems, and tracking tools to enhance operational transparency and efficiency.

- Mentor and develop the customs and logistics team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning aligned with Adanis organizational values.

- Ensure adherence to Adanis Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) policies throughout all logistics and customs activities.

- Promote sustainable practices in logistics operations, including exploring eco-friendly transportation methods and packaging solutions.

- Facilitate training and awareness programs on customs regulations, trade compliance, and logistics best practices for cross-functional teams.

Education Qualification

- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.

- Advanced degrees or diplomas in International Trade or Customs Management are an advantage.
