Lead Counsel 1 Wealth Clients Segments

As a Lead Counsel 1 at Citi, you will be a part of the Wealth Client Segments Legal team, supporting Citigroup's Wealth business. Your role will involve providing legal counsel to the Wealth Business, participating in strategic initiatives, and interpreting relevant laws, rules, and regulations. You will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: - Provide legal counsel to the Wealth Business and advise on legal matters impacting the business - Analyze business proposals and evaluate risks against industry standards and regulatory guidelines - Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to achieve efficient outcomes on common matters - Contribute to Wealth planning and development initiatives by providing thought leadership - Monitor and manage complex legal issues and transactions, escalating when necessary - Review client wealth structures and documentation, address KYC/AML aspects, and investigate client complaints Qualifications Required: - 4-6 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in financial services - Knowledge of banking regulations and international laws and regulations - Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills - Ability to apply sound judgement in a fast-paced environment - Bar license in good standing to practice law - Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree At Citi, you will have access to a variety of learning and development resources to enhance your skills and knowledge.
