Azure Database Management

Manage and administer Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Synapse SQL Pools, and Azure PostgreSQL\/MySQL services.

Implement backup\/restore strategies, point\-in\-time recovery, retention policies, and geo\-replication.

Monitor performance and optimize queries, indexes, resource allocation, and scaling

Data Analytics Platform Operations

Manage storage layers such as Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), SQL DBs, and Warehouse systems.

Support data engineering pipelines (ADF, Synapse Pipelines, Data Flows), ensuring data availability and reliability.

Maintain metadata systems, schema evolution, and data cataloging.

Security, Governance & Compliance

Implement and maintain access control via Azure AD, RBAC, and least\-privilege models.

Configure data security (TDE, Always Encrypted, masking, firewall, private endpoints).

Ensure compliance with governance standards and maintain audit logs.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

Use Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Query Store for proactive performance tuning.

Diagnose slow queries, deadlocks, failed jobs, and optimize workloads.

Implement automated alerts and health checks.

Operational Support

Manage database refreshes, deployments, version upgrades, and patching.

Provide production support for analytics workloads (Power BI, Fabric, Synapse, external applications).

Troubleshoot ingestion failures, job delays, schema conflicts, and compute\/storage bottlenecks.
