Lead Automation & Control

Instrumentation (DGM/GM Level)

Job Accountabilities:

1. Engineer & Implement Projects to meet Business Requirements

i. Lead selection of Engg Consultant from the perspective of for Electrical Engg Capability

ii. Closely work with Engg Consultant for on areas related to electrical domain on engineering

of Petro Retail projects

• Set standards for uniformity across all designs
• Review of concepts\sign-off all design and spec documents
• Approve Design Basis

iii. Understand Business requirements and finalise design basis incorporating latest

technology providing competitive edge to business.

iv. Validate TBE/TR for powers systems/equipment

v. Participate in vendor evaluation and qualification.

vi. Hold project Quality plan and procedures

vii. Plan electrical systems and equipment meeting all statutory norms, business requirements and customer needs

viii. Approve technical bid packages, technical evaluation and participate in technical

negotiations.

ix. Provide resolution to escalated field issues related to engg, conduct field audits and

suggest necessary corrective action during construction

x. Review terms and conditions and DOR related to Electrical systems in Engg and Contract

documents

xi. Finalise execution keeping in mind cost optimisation and project timelines

2. Design and Implement Profit Improvement Opportunities(PIO)

i. Understand operational requirements and provide competitive engineered solutions.

ii. Value engineering without compromising on ESH and operational requirements.

3. Adoption of technology solutions to gain competitive advantage

i. Attend and participate in professional group meeting/seminars/Think tank, stay abreast of

new trends.

ii. Research emerging/new products and recommend their applicability to business.

iii. Anchor Engineering analysis of projects to provide: preliminary design, alternatives, life

cycle cost leading to equipment selection with appropriate technology.

5. Process Management towards Operational Excellence

i. Advise on major projects and technical matters involving concepts and principles.

ii. Develop and standardise procedures and methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness

of engineering services.

iii. Provide technical direction and guidance for all product development.

6. People Development for Enhanced Capability & Productivity

i. Participate in selection, coordinate training and evaluation of assigned personnel

ii. Create in-house competency to meet all Engineering needs of Petroleum Business

iii. Mentor subordinate to take up higher responsibilities

iv. Create a culture within the team for Value Engineering.

7. HSE

i. Review and modify engineering designs incorporating latest HSE requirements.

ii. Ensure design incorporate latest local HSE requirements and are in line with companys

policy

Customer Satisfaction

i. Establish and maintain relationships with required external Vendors/Suppliers/Agencies to

ensure that project and engineering requirements are met in collaborative means.

ii. To provide engineering solution to business enabling customer delight, repeatability.

iii. Review feed backs from internal and external customers and initiate corrective action.
