Job Description

As a Laundry Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily laundry activities which include washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution. Your role will involve ensuring timely processing of guest laundry, resort linen, and staff uniforms while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and fabric care. Your key responsibilities will include leading, training, and coordinating the laundry staff to ensure a smooth workflow. You will be assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and monitoring performance to maintain discipline and adherence to housekeeping and safety standards. In terms of quality control, you will be inspecting linen and uniforms for stains, tears, and overall quality. It will be your responsibility to ensure proper stain removal techniques and fabric-specific washing procedures, aiming to maintain quality output and minimize the rewash ratio. You will also be tasked with monitoring stock levels of linen, detergents, chemicals, and supplies, and coordinating with the Housekeeping department for linen requirements and replacements. Maintaining records of linen movement, discard lists, and consumption reports will be essential. Ensuring the proper maintenance of laundry equipment such as machines, dryers, presses, and steam irons will fall under your purview. You will need to report any breakdowns to the Engineering department and follow up for repairs, while also conducting routine checks and preventive maintenance of the equipment. In terms of guest service, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely delivery of guest laundry, supporting VIP laundry requests with priority handling, and maintaining courteous communication with guests and staff. Your role will also involve ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures, following SOPs for chemical handling, machine safety, and emergency protocols, and implementing eco-friendly laundry practices where possible. Furthermore, you will be required to coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments for laundry requirements, prepare daily reports, linen usage summaries, and staff productivity logs, and assist in budget planning for laundry operations.
