Job Description

Role Overview: The Lathe Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining lathe machines to fabricate, modify, or repair parts and components made from various materials. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: - Machine Setup: Prepare and configure lathe machines, including selecting the appropriate tools, setting speeds, and calibrating machinery to meet production specifications. - Operation: Operate lathe machines to produce parts according to blueprints, sketches, or specific instructions. Monitor the machining process to ensure quality and accuracy. - Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality. - Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on lathe machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance and longevity. - Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor. - Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production, including material usage, machine settings, and finished parts. Complete any required documentation for quality control and inventory purposes. - Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and achieve production goals. Qualification Required: - Experience: Prior experience as a lathe operator or in a similar machining role is preferred. - Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating manual and/or CNC lathes. Knowledge of various materials and machining techniques. - Attention to Detail: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. - Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address machining issues and make precise adjustments. - Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. - Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and commitment to following workplace safety standards and practices.,
