Job Title:

Key Responsibilities:

Land Identification & Feasibility

  • Identify suitable land parcels (both private and government) for utility-scale solar power projects across India.
  • Conduct technical, legal, and financial feasibility assessments of identified land parcels.
  • Coordinate with internal technical teams to assess solar radiation, proximity to evacuation infrastructure, and accessibility.

Land Acquisition & Title Due Diligence

  • Ensure clear title and ownership documentation; oversee the due diligence process through legal advisors.
  • Manage acquisition through direct purchase, lease, or government allotment as per project requirements.
  • Liaise with landowners, village authorities, local influencers, and legal entities to ensure smooth transactions.

Government & Regulatory Liaisoning

  • Interface with revenue departments, District Collectors, Tehsildars, Registrars, and State Nodal Agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with land ceiling acts, conversion of land use, and acquisition regulations.
  • Support the application and follow-up for land-related approvals and clearances.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, aggregators, brokers, and community leaders to ensure on-ground support and issue resolution.
  • Mitigate risks such as title disputes, encroachments, and opposition from local communities.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure proper documentation, registration, and mutation of acquired land in favor of the company.
  • Maintain a central repository of all land documents, approvals, maps, and agreements in coordination with the legal and project teams.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Develop a land acquisition strategy aligned with solar project pipeline and business goals.
  • Provide regular updates to CMD on acquisition status, challenges, and mitigation plans.
  • Forecast land acquisition budgets and timelines and monitor adherence.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Should be a Graduate
  • Minimum 1015 years of experience in land acquisition for infrastructure/energy projects, preferably in Solar or Renewable Energy.
  • Proven track record in handling large-scale land acquisition (100+ acres) across multiple states.
  • Strong knowledge of land laws, revenue systems, and state-specific regulations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and persuasion skills.
  • Strong understanding of legal, regulatory, and socio-political landscape.
  • Proficiency in Kannada and Hindi preferred; other regional languages are an advantage.
  • High integrity, persistence, and ability to travel extensively across project locations.
  • Ability to manage conflict and drive consensus with diverse stakeholders.
