Laboratory Technician

Position Overview

Azoth Biotech is seeking skilled and detail-driven Lab Technicians to manage and support daily operations in our mushroom cultivation laboratory. This role is central to ensuring precise inoculation, contamination-free processes, and consistently high-quality mushroom cultures that power our next generation of bioactive ingredients.

Key Responsibilities

Inoculation Operations

Execute all inoculation activities with precision, strictly adhering to SOPs and maintaining aseptic conditions at every stage.

Culture Monitoring and Maintenance

Carry out routine inspections and upkeep of cultures to ensure optimal growth, purity, and strain performance.

Contamination and Sterility Control

Detect and document contamination issues quickly. Uphold sterility and cleanliness across all laboratory workflows.

Quality Control

Conduct QC checks throughout the cultivation cycle. Track deviations, verify batch consistency, and support continuous improvements to enhance yield and reliability.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate, thorough records of all procedures and observations. Prepare detailed reports for internal teams and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

•⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field (Microbiology preferred).

•⁠ ⁠2–3 years of hands-on experience in a laboratory environment—preferably in mushroom cultivation, fermentation, or similar setups.

Skills and Competencies

•⁠ ⁠Strong working knowledge of key laboratory equipment such as LAF cabinets, autoclaves, and pH meters.

•⁠ ⁠Ability to follow protocols with precision and maintain sterile working conditions.

•⁠ ⁠Independent, dependable, and effective in both individual and team settings.

•⁠ ⁠Exceptional attention to detail with strong documentation habits.

•⁠ ⁠Clear and structured communication skills for reporting issues and observations.

•⁠ ⁠Dedicated to safety standards and compliant laboratory practices.
