Job
Description
As a Platform Technician with Rework Skills, your primary responsibility will be to support platform bring-up, hardware assembly, and system-level integration for client/server platforms in lab environments. You will be required to perform board-level rework tasks such as component replacement, soldering/de-soldering (including SMT/BGA), socket replacements, and jumper modifications. Additionally, you will conduct system-level debugging, troubleshoot issues related to BIOS, firmware, drivers, and OS installations. Your duties will also include installing and updating operating systems (Windows/Linux/VMware) and device drivers, as well as performing BIOS/firmware flashing. You will configure platforms for testing, including rack setup, cable management, power distribution unit (PDU) configuration, and peripheral integration. It will be essential to follow ESD safety protocols, rework guidelines, and maintain accurate documentation of all work performed. You will collaborate with engineering teams in platform validation, log collection, stress testing, and hardware diagnostics. Maintaining the inventory of rework tools, spare components, and consumables used in the lab will be part of your responsibilities. Ensuring lab discipline by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment is crucial. Providing detailed status reports on system builds, rework activities, and defect tracking will also be expected. To qualify for this role, you should have a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience). A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in hardware platform support and PCB rework is required. You must possess strong proficiency in soldering/reworking fine-pitch components, including BGA, QFN, and SMDs. A good understanding of system architecture and experience with server/client motherboard-level debugging is essential. Familiarity with BIOS flashing, driver updates, and OS deployment is necessary. Experience working in lab environments following standard operating procedures and safety practices is a plus. You should have the ability to interpret schematics, board layouts, and debug documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail will be valuable assets in this role.,
