Job Description

Role Overview: As a member of the Support Staff and Tech team in Mumbai, your role will involve coordinating and participating in various nuclear medicine procedures. You will be responsible for operating radiation detection and measurement instrumentation, calibrating radiopharmaceutical materials, ensuring their quality and accuracy before administration to patients, and taking precautions to prevent misadministration. Additionally, you will be required to maintain the proper functioning of all nuclear medicine equipment, calibrate instruments, review calibration data, and carry out periodic quality assurance and maintenance. Your responsibilities will also include evaluating recorded images, processing computerized image data, providing patient care during examinations, and instructing patients on post-procedure precautions. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate and participate in a variety of nuclear medicine procedures - Operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation - Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for patient administration - Ensure radiopharmaceutical quality, route of administration, and dosage accuracy - Maintain proper functioning of nuclear medicine equipment and instruments - Review calibration data and detect trends indicating instrument malfunction - Evaluate recorded images for technical quality - Process computerized image data including function curves and reconstructed SPECT images - Provide care for the physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations - Instruct patients on post-procedure precautions - Maintain inventory of supplies, records of radiopharmaceutical activities, and radioactive material orders - Prevent spillage of radioactivity or contamination by exercising care during dispensing/administration - Report any mishap in dosage administration or unusual incidents to the RSO and nuclear medicine physician - Assist the RSO in maintaining records related to inventory, use, waste disposal, and safety matters - Maintain professional conduct, communication skills, and patient confidentiality - Contribute to the Quality Initiative Improvement & protocols of the department and organization Qualifications Required: - Bachelors in Nuclear Medicine Technology or PG Dip.
