An adult cardiac operation theatre (OT) nurse provides perioperative care for patients undergoing cardiac surgeries . Their responsibilities include preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons, monitoring patients during surgery, and providing post-operative care. Key Responsibilities: Pre-operative care: Preparing patients for surgery, including physical assessments, documentation, and answering questions. In-operative care: Assisting the surgeon during the procedure by passing instruments, maintaining sterility, and monitoring the patient's vital signs. Post-operative care: Monitoring patients in the recovery room, managing pain, and educating them about post-operative care. Equipment and Supplies: Ensuring the operating room is properly stocked, organized, and sterilized with necessary equipment. Collaboration: Working with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nurses, to provide comprehensive care.
