· Assisting the Head Chef: Supporting the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and overall kitchen management. · Supervising and Training Staff: Overseeing kitchen staff, delegating tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a positive and collaborative environment. · Ensuring Food Quality: Monitoring food preparation, ensuring proper cooking techniques, and maintaining high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency. · Inventory Management: Tracking inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients. · Maintaining Sanitation and Safety: Enforcing food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring proper handling of equipment. · Managing Kitchen Operations: Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including opening and closing procedures, and ensuring smooth workflow. · Problem Solving: Addressing any issues that may arise in the kitchen, such as delays, mistakes, or staffing shortages. · Menu Development: Contributing to the creation of new dishes and menu items. Skills Required: · Culinary Expertise: Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, techniques, and cuisines. · Leadership and Communication: Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and communicate with kitchen staff. · Organizational and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain a smooth workflow. · Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. · Food Safety and Sanitation: Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices. · Inventory Management: Ability to track, order, and manage kitchen supplies effectively.
