Junior Software Tester

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Software Tester with hands-on experience in unit testing and automated testing for applications built using JavaScript frameworks and Laravel (PHP). The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and mobile applications.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing for JavaScript (NextJS/React or other frameworks) and Laravel-based systems.
• Set up and maintain automated test frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, PHPUnit, Cypress, Selenium, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and ensure proper coverage.
• Identify, document, and track bugs using tools such as JIRA, Trello, or GitHub Issues.
• Validate bug fixes and ensure regression testing is effectively carried out.
• Continuously improve testing strategies and processes to enhance code quality and release cycles.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline testing and ensure automated test coverage in deployments.
• Work on cross-browser and cross-device testing for responsiveness and compatibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in software testing with focus on unit and automated testing.
• Strong experience with JavaScript testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, Cypress, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with PHPUnit and testing tools for Laravel.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Good to Have (Optional but Preferred)

• Experience with API testing (Postman, Newman, or automated API testing tools).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, k6).
• Exposure to Playwright or Puppeteer for browser automation.
• Understanding of database testing (MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
