Junior Network Engineer

This role is for one of the Weekday's clients. The salary range for this position is Rs 240,000 to Rs 480,000 per annum (i.e., INR 2.4-4.8 LPA). The minimum experience required for this position is 2 years. The location for this position is Mumbai, Andheri. This is a full-time job opportunity. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. Ideal candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in network engineering and should be eager to enhance their skills while contributing to the maintenance and optimization of our network infrastructure. As a Junior Network Engineer, your responsibilities will include providing L1 and L2 network support, troubleshooting issues, and assisting in the implementation and management of network solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Provide L1 and L2 support for network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless devices. - Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high availability and reliability. - Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network devices and systems. - Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades under supervision. - Identify, diagnose, and resolve network faults and performance issues promptly. - Collaborate with senior network engineers to design and implement network improvements. - Document network configurations, processes, and incidents accurately. - Support incident management processes by logging and tracking network-related tickets and requests. - Assist with network security tasks such as managing access controls, firewalls, and VPNs. - Participate in network audits and compliance checks. - Continuously update knowledge of network technologies, tools, and best practices. Required Skills and Qualifications: - 2-3 years of experience in network engineering or related roles. - Strong understanding of network fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching. - Hands-on experience supporting L1 and L2 network operations such as incident identification, troubleshooting, and resolution. - Familiarity with network hardware such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar devices. - Knowledge of firewall configurations, VPN technologies, and network security basics. - Ability to interpret network diagrams and technical documentation. - Basic scripting knowledge for automation (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus. - Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude. - Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced technical environment. - Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+) are preferred but not mandatory.,
