Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Sourcing & Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers for indirect goods and services based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, prices, and service level agreements (SLAs) with suppliers.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, and resolving any issues or disputes.
  • Develop and maintain a robust supplier database and supplier performance metrics.

Procurement Operations:

  • Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders (POs) in the ERP system.
  • Expedite orders and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Resolve discrepancies with invoices, delivery, and quality.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate invoice processing.
  • Facilitate communication between internal users and suppliers.

Cost Optimization & Savings:

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through negotiation, alternative sourcing, value analysis, and process improvements.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.
  • Track and report on cost savings achieved.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks (e.g., single sourcing, geopolitical risks, quality issues).
  • Ensure proper contract management and legal compliance.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering/Supply Chain Management
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in indirect procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving cost savings and managing supplier relationships effectively.
  • Experience with ERP systems - SAP is essential.
  • Experience with e-procurement platforms and tools is a plus.

  • Strong Negotiation Skills: Ability to effectively negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive and resourceful in identifying and resolving issues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
