Junior Librarian

As a Junior Librarian at Amity Global School, Gurgaon, your role will involve overseeing the daily operations of the school library to ensure a welcoming and resource-rich environment for students and staff. You will be responsible for developing and implementing library programs and services that enhance learning and promote literacy across all grade levels. Your key responsibilities will include: - Curating and managing the library's collection, which involves selecting, acquiring, cataloging, and maintaining resources in various formats. - Collaborating with teachers and administrators to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support classroom instruction. - Providing guidance and support to students in research, information literacy, and the effective use of library resources. - Organizing workshops and training sessions for students and staff on library usage, digital resources, and research skills. - Staying updated with trends in library science and education technology to continuously improve library services. - Fostering a love for reading and learning through engaging programs, events, and reading initiatives. - Managing library budgets and resources efficiently to ensure sustainability and cost-effectiveness. To qualify for this role, you should have a Master's degree in library science or information science from an accredited institution and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a library setting, preferably in an educational environment. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of library management systems and digital resources, excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the library and school community. Preferred skills for this position include familiarity with current educational technologies and digital library tools, experience in developing and implementing library programs and initiatives, ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, and a passion for literature with a strong desire to inspire students in their educational journeys.
