Role Overview
The Junior CFO will support the CFO in managing the complete finance and compliance framework of the manufacturing plant. This role requires strong ownership, hands-on involvement at the plant, and the ability to establish trust and confidence through consistent on-ground presence. The candidate will oversee controls, compliance, basic accounting, GST/Income Tax matters, internal audit coordination, and ensure robust financial governance at the plant level.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Controls & Compliance Establish, monitor, and strengthen internal controls across all finance and plant operations. Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory norms, and audit requirements. Identify control gaps, propose corrective actions, and ensure implementation. Work closely with the Group CFO and plant leadership team to support financial planning, budgeting, and cost control. Monitor plant-level financial performance and provide insights for improvement2. Plant Accounting & Reporting Oversee day-to-day accounting activities at the plant, including vendor payments, GRN review, material reconciliation, and production-related accounting. Ensure accuracy of books, timely month-end closure, and preparation of MIS. Support cost accounting, standard costing updates, and variance analysis.3. Statutory Compliance - GST & Income Tax Manage GST compliance including monthly filings, input reconciliations, and responding to notices. Support TDS, advance tax calculations, and statutory submissions. Coordinate with consultants for periodic reviews and assessments.4. Internal Audit & Risk Management Coordinate internal audits at the plant and ensure readiness with all supporting documents. Track closure of audit observations and ensure compliance with audit timelines. Monitor key risk areas and strengthen process discipline.5. Inventory, Production & Operational Controls Review inventory controls, stock reconciliations, scrap management, and material movement processes. Validate BOM accuracy and production reporting. Partner with plant teams to ensure operational process controls.6. Stakeholder Coordination Work closely with the CFO, plant leadership, procurement, and corporate finance teams. Present periodic updates on compliance status, key financial risks, and improvements.Required Skills & Qualifications CA / CMA / MBA Finance or equivalent professional qualification. 8-15 years of relevant experience in plant finance, manufacturing finance, or corporate finance roles. Strong understanding of accounting principles, GST, IT compliance, and internal controls. Hands-on, process-oriented, and comfortable working from the plant regularly. Ability to build trust quickly through on-ground knowledge, rigor, and proactive ownership. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
