Junior Architect / Design Associate (Furniture & Interiors)

Grainarch is a design-led timber and furniture brand being built by restructuring a 30-year-old legacy manufacturing infrastructure. We are looking to add one Junior Architect to our team — someone interested in learning how design translates into real products and real spaces.

This is a long-term role for a junior architect who wants hands-on exposure to furniture design, interiors, manufacturing, and execution — not just drawings and renders.

Key responsibilities

• Design furniture pieces (wood / plywood / metal) and prepare manufacturing-ready drawings
• Assist with factory and workshop layout planning
• Support retail and interior projects from drawings to site execution
• Work with carpenters, fabricators, and site teams to prototype and build designs
• Help develop new product concepts and refine them through execution
• Coordinate basic documentation such as material lists and drawing revisions

Required qualifications

• B.Arch or equivalent (0–2 years experience)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one 3D software (SketchUp / Fusion 360 / Rhino / SolidWorks)
• Portfolio showing built work, prototypes, or detailed drawings (academic or professional)
• Willingness to work on sites and in workshops
• Interest in materials, joinery, timber, and manufacturing
• Good communication skills and a practical mindset
