Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Pre-Sales Project Planning & Definition:

• Collaborate extensively with the Sales Head, Design Engineers, and Controls Engineers to understand customer requirements and conceptual solutions for automation and robotics projects.

• Define preliminary project scope, deliverables, and success criteria based on customer inputs and proposed technical solutions.

• Develop initial project timelines and high-level schedules for the proposed automation and robotics systems, considering design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning phases.

• Identify key project milestones and dependencies relevant to the sales proposal.

2. Feasibility & Risk Assessment (Project Management Aspect):

• Conduct feasibility studies from a project management perspective, assessing the practicality of proposed timelines, resource availability, and potential logistical challenges.

• Identify and evaluate potential project risks during the sales phase, including technical complexities, resource constraints, long lead times for components, installation challenges, and regulatory compliance.

• Develop preliminary risk mitigation strategies to be incorporated into the sales proposal and customer discussions.

• Contribute to defining realistic payment terms based on project milestones and anticipated cash flow. 3. Resource & Effort Estimation (Pre-Sales):

• Work with the Design Engineers and Controls Engineers to estimate the engineering effort required for design, programming, and testing phases.

• Collaborate with the Procurement Engineer to understand component lead times and their impact on the overall project schedule.

• Provide comprehensive input on overall resource effort costing (manpower, equipment, travel) for the sales proposal.

Proposal Contribution & Communication:

• Contribute detailed project management sections to sales proposals, including proposed timelines, project methodology, key milestones, and risk summaries.

• Articulate the project execution plan and company's project management capabilities during customer presentations and discussions.

• Support the Sales Head in preparing and handling NDA and other confidentiality documents, ensuring project-related sensitive information is protected.

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding the project approach, timelines, and any necessary assumptions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in developing project timelines, resource plans, and managing project risks. • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Gantt charts, critical path analysis).

• Technical knowledge of automation components, robotic systems, and control systems.

• Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage expectations and articulate complex plans.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
