GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The job involves preparation / review of equipment layouts, GAD, isometrics, pipe stress analysis, piping supports and isometrics. Proficiency in use of international codes & standards related to layout and piping engineering. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to Design Manager, must be capable of design and developing the Engineering deliverables related to piping & supports as per project requirement. Identify the scope of work & list of doc deliverables by going through the piping specifications and piping standards received as part of project requirement. Attending the internal Project Kick of meeting along with Team Lead and clarify the piping related issues or doubts or missing specifications if any to be obtained from client. Supporting Designer to prepare the preliminary skid layout during pre-order and post order as per client requirement. Preparation of pipe sizing and hydraulic calculations. Checking the adequacy of pipe size recommended by the client. Checking the project specific piping specifications created in piping modelling software. Preparation of preliminary piping BOM based on P&ID and PMS. Review of Plant / skid 3D modelling with respect to piping spec correctness & completeness, piping routing, insulation requirements if any, accessibility, supports & its locations, drain & venting requirements, etc., Doing Piping stress analysis using CAESAR II or equivalent software. Sometimes manual stress calculation and preparing the report. Review of Piping stress analysis reports To Design the pipe supports based on stress calculation output. Assisting structural Engineer / Designer to prepare the support fabrication drawings. Review of piping isometric drawings and support drawings. Preparation / review of final piping BOM. Preparation / Review of As-built drawings. To Participate in Design review meetings (internal or external) as necessary. To identify the areas of concern with respect to progress of assigned work. Discuss with Team Lead or manager to take corrective action wherever required. Completing the given task in a specified time frame with at most care and professional manner. SKILLS & ABILITIES Hands on experience in plant or package piping design and detail engineering is required. Working experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery or Petrochemical plant and skid package piping would be preferred. Shall have good knowledge and exposure in pipe support design and stress analysis. Exposure to Aramco/ADCO/PDO/Shell/ONGC company specifications related to piping and supports would be considered as added advantage.
