With a national commitment to end malaria by 2027 - three years ahead of the global target under SDG 3.3 - the country must now confront challenges in its high-burden regions. Among these, Gadchiroli in Maharashtra stands out for its persistent transmission and contributes to over half of the states malaria cases. Recognizing Gadchirolis pivotal role, the Government of Maharashtra has launched a comprehensive malaria elimination initiative - Malaria Mukt Gadchiroli Abhiyan. Chaired by the Chief Minister, a Special Task Force comprising multiple non-profit organizations under the leadership of the CEO, Zila Parishad, drives this mission-mode campaign. WJCF has been invited to institute a Program Management Unit (PMU) for a period of three years to manage and coordinate the activities as per the Action Plan and align interventions of partners and research institutes with the Operational Plan for Malaria Mukt Gadchiroli. The Malaria Mukt Gadchiroli project is a pioneering initiative addressing critical gaps in malaria elimination strategies within high-burden districts, with a special emphasis on community-based interventions and intersectoral coordination. Planned to be implemented across Gadchiroli district over three years, this comprehensive malaria elimination project aims to impact the entire population through an integrated service delivery model that leverages existing health systems, community health workers, and multi-partner collaboration. Marking a significant milestone in Maharashtras malaria elimination efforts while focusing on evidence-based strategies, the project focuses on strengthening local health systems and implementing innovative vector control measures. Additionally, it incorporates robust monitoring and evaluation components, amplifying its role in advancing malaria elimination in alignment with national health priorities and international best practices. Position Summary: WJCF is seeking an organized and dependable Program Assistant to support the day-to-day administrative operations of the Program Management Unit (PMU) for the Malaria Mukt Gadchiroli Abhiyan, based at the district headquarters in Gadchiroli. Reporting to the Program Officer, the Program Assistant will be responsible for handling logistics, documentation, scheduling, and coordination tasks essential for smooth program functioning. This includes supporting trainings, workshops, and meetings; maintaining records and correspondence; facilitating procurement and travel; and coordinating with block teams for report consolidation and material dispatch. He/she will also responsible to document some of the good practices from the project implementation. The ideal candidate will be a graduate in any discipline with 1 3 years of experience in administrative roles and should possess strong skills in MS Office and file management. The role requires the ability to multitask, manage calendars and digital files, and ensure compliance with administrative protocols. Familiarity with the local context and reading/writing knowledge of Marathi is desirable. A team-oriented attitude, reliability, and the capacity to respond to dynamic project needs are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Provide logistical coordination for trainings, workshops, field visits, and review meetings. This includes arranging venues, transport, accommodation, and ensuring smooth on-site support for events across district and block levels. Maintain minutes records of meetings, events, and consolidate project data, official communications. Ensure timely filing and organization of both digital and physical documents to support program reporting and compliance. Assist and facilitate with procurement processes by collecting quotations, maintaining supply records, and supporting logistics. Handle travel and accommodation arrangements for PMU staff and visiting teams. Liaise with block-level staff to consolidate reports, collect field updates, and track activity implementation. Facilitate timely dispatch of supplies and communication materials to field units. Manage digital files, calendars, and schedules to ensure smooth administrative operations. Track deadlines and support compliance with internal systems and documentation standards. Qualifications Graduate in any discipline with 1 3 years of experience in administrative roles.
