Position Focus:

• Ability to conduct and lead supplier audits, evaluate processes, and identify improvement areas.
• Proficiency with quality management tools e.g PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, GD&T etc.
• Capable to do detailed part dimensional feasibility based on 3D data and 2D Drawings.
• Expertise in supplier process capability, material development, and ensuring adherence to OEM/Tier-1 quality, cost, and delivery standards.
• Technical bridge between internal engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and the supplier
• Supplier Development & Technical Support Lead technical discussions with suppliers for foam, PU systems, trim covers, cut & sew, and lamination processes.
• Drive supplier process development, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Capable to provide technical guidance on raw material selection, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
• Strong knowledge of seat cover materials: fabric, leather, PU, vinyl, and advanced trims. Familiarity with seat comfort/performance parameters, durability testing, and ergonomic standards.
• Expertise & Deep understanding of foam formulation, curing, molding.
• Able to prepare required FTG for new development parts, Able to derive tool / Fixture / gauges sizes, Trim layout and consumption calculations.
• Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective action implementation
• Monitor supplier quality performance using KPIs (PPM, scrap, warranty claims)
• Cross-Functional Leadership Partner with Engineering, Program Management, and Purchasing teams to align supplier readiness with project timelines.
• Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and performance.
• Compliance & Standards Ensure supplier adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and OEM-specific standards. VDA qualification is an added advantage.
• Knowledge and able to conduct supplier audits for special process like coating and Injection molding (CQI 12,CQI 23).
• Communication and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication
• Initiate & drive supplier escalation meeting at all levels pro-actively

Experience:

• Minimum 15 years + experience in Tier-1

  (Automotive/Seating industry

  preferably in seating & MNC) and OR OEM working experience

  Foam & Seat Cover commodity

  .
• Proficiency in English
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong professional ethics.

Qualification:

• B.E. (Mechanical, Automobile) OR
• Materials Engineering, Polymer/Plastic Technology
